Nuclear power is a vert interesting topic for me. I am not sure why it has always fascinated me. Regardless I consider it to be one of the most overlooked method of energy generation. For one, it is a clean and green energy source which is something that is in high demand right now due to the reliance on fossil fuels. Secondly, it is much safer than people realize and this is a result of the media demonizing it. Because of how strict they have to be with their safety precautions, there is no harm done to anyone or to the environment during normal operation. The only time there is danger is during a meltdown which is incredibly unlikely. There have only been 2 since the 80's Chernobyl, and Fukushima. Chernobyl was a result of severe negligence, and Fukushima was the result of a massive earthquake and tsunami. Nuclear power is also very efficient and energy dense. This gives it an advantage over other clean sources in that it can produce a massive amount of energy, using the least amount of land, in any climate condition. I believe it is the energy source of the future.
