In the Court of the Dragon

 

Recently, Florida metal outfit Trivium released their newest album In the Court of the Dragon. This is their first album since What the Dead Men Say back in April of 2020. Trivium is one of my favorite bands ever and I was excited when they dropped the first single from the upcoming album, the single was also called In the Court of the Dragon. I was even more excited to find that the song was fantastic. This had me very pumped for the new album. When the next single came out, Feast of Fire, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was even better than the first. It was after the release of the second single I went to go see them live in concert hoping that they would play some of the new material. Sadly they did not and I was left waiting for the album to finally drop.

My waiting would play off when the album finally did come out. It was a masterpiece with 0 songs that were even below average. I immediately listened to the whole album twice through and loved it more each time I heard any of the new songs. In the Court of  the Dragon is one of my favorite albums ever and my favorite album to come out in 2021 which is impressive as 2021 was a stacked year with many of my favorite artists releasing albums this year such as Gojira, Rise Against, Mr. Bungle, and , A Day to Remember. Despite how much great music was released this year I believe Trivium stands on top.
