Writing

I was never a fan of English classes growing up. I didn't understand what my teachers wanted from me and this lead to writing being by far my weakest subject. This all changed with my 11th grade English teacher. His way of teaching to write was different than any I had experienced before. He taught English in a less formulaic way. The way he taught was that the most important thing when writing is that you can clearly show what your idea is and that you have the evidence to back up any claim you make. This was more important than grammar as grammar could be fixed but without a solid idea and evidence anything you write has no ground to stand on. This changed the way I approached writing and made it much less of a chore, and I have been glad ever since that I took that class.
